Ethyle R. Wolfe Institute for the Humanities
The Wolfe Institute for the Humanities supports excellence in research, publication, teaching, and all forms of academic discourse on the campus of Brooklyn College. The institute sponsors a varied series of lectures, seminars, colloquia, conferences, and study groups, often in collaboration with other academic programs and organizations to keep public conversation at Brooklyn College in touch with advances in the humanities and social sciences.
Hess Scholar-in-Residence
Hess Week: April 1-4, 2025
2024–25 Hess Scholar-in-Residence Melissa Murray is the Frederick I. and Grace Stokes Professor of Law at NYU School of Law, where she teaches constitutional law, family law, criminal law, and reproductive rights and justice.
The Wolfe Institute will be hosting a number of events throughout the academic year to introduce Professor Murray to the campus community in anticipation of her residency during the week of April 1, 2025.
